Emmett Fehlau-Barton
Emmett is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who brings a detail oriented, analytical approach to complex financial planning scenarios. At Pearl Wealth, Emmett works closely with the lead advisor to translate raw client data into high quality plan deliverables — reviewing client information, building out plans across leading planning platforms (MoneyGuide, Holistiplan and others), and serving as another set of eyes and ears to help the team generate sound ideas and recommendations. His fluency across multiple planning software platforms allows him to bring flexibility and rigor to even the most nuanced client situations, and his friendly, professional demeanor makes him a trusted point of contact for advisors and clients alike.
Emmett's introduction to the world of money came early, and it wasn't easy. In 2007, like so many families across the country, his family came close to losing their home. He was young, but he remembers the weight of it — the late-night conversations, the worry that hung over the house. That experience stayed with him. As he got older, he found himself drawn to understanding why it happened and how families like his could avoid feeling so powerless again. What started as a personal need to make sense of things grew into a genuine curiosity about how the financial system works — and eventually, into a career built on helping others feel more in control of their own money.Emmett doesn't take that responsibility lightly; he sees it as a chance to give his community the guidance and reassurance his own family once needed.
Emmett grew up in Boulder, Colorado, and stayed close to home for his education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a focus in Personal Financial Planning from the University of Colorado – Boulder's Leeds School of Business, where he served as President of the Financial Planning Club. He got his start in the industry working for a Boulder-area planning firm while still in school, gaining hands-on experience alongside seasoned advisors that helped bring his classroom learning to life. Outside of work, Emmett is happiest outdoors — hiking and camping throughout the Rockies, with a recent summit of Mt. Huron (one of Colorado's 14ers) among his proudest outings. A former wrestler and soccer player growing up, he's held onto a love of combat sports and still follows international soccer closely. During theCOVID-19 lockdowns, he discovered a new hobby in the kitchen: these days, you're just as likely to find him experimenting with a new recipe or tending to a smoker as you are to find him out on a trail.
